1. Using MUBSell

By creating an account you confirm that the information you give us is accurate, that you are old enough to enter a contract where you live, and that you'll follow these terms.

• One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone else.
• You are responsible for what you post and for anything done through your account.
• Browsing is open to everyone. You only need an account to message a seller or post an item.
• Don't scrape, spam, or attempt to break the site or other people's accounts.

2. Listings & prohibited items

Your listing appears straight away. Our team reviews listings afterwards and may take one down at any time if it breaks these rules, you'll be told if that happens. We may reject or remove anything that breaks these rules, and repeat breaches can suspend your account.

Your listing must

• Show your own real photos of the actual item, no stock or borrowed images.
• Describe the item honestly, including any damage or wear.
• State a genuine price. Don't inflate a "was" price to fake a discount.
• Sit in the correct category, with accurate details.

You may not list

• Weapons, explosives, or ammunition.
• Drugs, prescription medicine, or related paraphernalia.
• Counterfeit, replica or stolen goods.
• Exam papers, forged documents, certificates or IDs.
• Live animals sold for cruelty, endangered wildlife or their products.
• Adult or sexual services, or anything sexualising a minor.
• Any item you don't legally own or aren't allowed to sell.

3. Buying, selling & meeting safely

MUBSell is an introduction service. The contract for any sale is strictly between the buyer and the seller. We don't inspect items, take payment, or deliver anything.

• Meet in a public, busy place in daylight where possible.
• Inspect and test the item before you hand over any money.
• Never pay a deposit to someone you haven't met for an item you haven't seen.
• Keep your conversation inside MUBSell so there's a record if something goes wrong.
• Report anything that feels off using the Report button on any listing or profile.

4. Advertising & paid placement

MUBSell does not sell placement. There is no boost, no sponsored slot, no paid banner and no advertising of any kind on the site. Nobody can pay to appear above you, and we cannot either.

What that means in practice:

• Listing is free, and we never take a cut of your sale.
• Where your listing appears is decided only by what the buyer searched for, the filters they chose and how recently you posted. There is no hidden ranking factor you could have bought.
• Nothing on a results page is an advert. If it looks like a listing, it is one.

If this ever changes we will say so here first, every paid placement will be clearly labelled, and it will never be able to force an item into results it does not match.

5. Privacy & your data

What we collect

• Your name, and an email address and/or phone number.
• What you list, message, save and report.
• Basic usage data such as listing views, so we can show sellers their stats.

How we use it

• To run the marketplace: show your listings, deliver your messages, keep the site safe.
• To show sellers performance figures for their own listings and paid placements.
• To send you marketing email only if you opted in, every such email has an unsubscribe link, and opting out never affects your account.

Messages, and when staff can read them

Conversations between buyers and sellers happen inside MUBSell and are stored on our servers. They are not end-to-end encrypted. Being straight with you about this matters more than sounding reassuring:

• Our staff can read message threads when investigating a report, a suspected scam, harassment, or a safety concern, or where the law requires it.
• Every time a staff member opens a conversation, that access is recorded: who looked, whose conversation, and when. We audit those records.
• Staff can only read. Nobody can reply as you, edit your messages, or delete them from a thread.
• We don't read messages for advertising, and we don't build profiles from them.

If you would not want a member of staff to see something in the course of a fraud investigation, please don't send it here. Never share passwords, PINs or full mobile-money credentials with anyone on MUBSell, staff included. We will never ask you for them.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't publish your phone number unless you choose to show it on a listing.
• We don't share your details with advertisers, they only ever see anonymous totals.
• We don't read your messages for advertising, and staff access is limited to the safety reasons above, logged every time.

You can edit your details, change your contact preferences, download nothing you didn't give us, and delete your account at any time from your profile.

6. Accounts, suspension & deletion

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, repeatedly posts prohibited items, or harms other users. Where it's reasonable we'll warn you first and tell you why.

You can delete your account from your profile at any time. Deleting removes your listings and personal details; messages other people received may remain in their inbox, and we may keep limited records where the law requires it.

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda.
